Most of the time, my brain is just bouncing around with a million ideas. It’s one of the reasons why I have multiple sketchbooks and digital notes, so that the better ideas don’t get away. Sometimes, one of those really sticks in my head, and I feel the need to get it out.
That was the case the other day, when I was listening to the Nine Inch Nails song “March of the Pigs”. In the song, the phrase, “the pigs have won tonight” comes up. For some reason, that just wouldn’t leave my head. So, I decided to create some art from it.
Since I’m starting to do inks again, I decided to do an ink of a “pig man”. Which, happily for me, came out with a certain creepiness to it.
I’m not sure if it’s the beedy eyes, or the odd frown, or even that we’re looking at a pig man wearing a “rib fest” shirt. But something about it clicked for me.
Let me know what you think, I’m considering doing a series of animal people.
