I think as an artist, when you hit one of those blocks, you just need to let it go and start creating.
There are so many textures, views, styles and all kinds of visuals that an artist can easily spend a lifetime learning just the natural side of art.
This one is a cross between a painted style and the textured/layered style that I attempt when I can.
Every so often, I try to go back and look at my sketches and pick the ones that don’t seem so horrifyingly bad that I can’t show everyone else.
It turns out that, despite having a new house, I do have the money to hit a couple of upcoming cons.
Having done the artwork for the book, I decided to do a promotional “layer-by-layer” video for YouTube.

Just in case anyone out there wants them (I’ve had a question here and there on it), I saved a number of my art pieces as computer downloads.
I decided to update my Deviant Art page (at audentiori.deviantart.com), and I thought I’d post the revised art here as well.
I should probably call this the Thursday sketch, since I’m only posting it now and it wasn’t finished until 2 in the morning.
I’m trying to be better about getting new pieces every week, whether it’s a full piece or just a sketch.
